Consultancy

I am available for consultancy work in New Zealand and Australia within the auspices of my company Ed-Bytes. I am especially interested in working with health organizations to explore how they can utilize social media (blogs, wiki etc) to provide learning and development opportunities for their staff in online networks and communities of practice.

I am also keen to work with nurses, midwives and health organizations in Australia as they prepare for national registration. My extensive experience of portfolio and e-Portfolio implementation since 1992 makes me ideally placed to support nurses and midwives as they prepare their professional portfolios for national accreditation in Australia.

I have carried out a range of activities with health organizations. In 2009 I consulted with Aged Care Queensland to provide a two-day workshop for indigenous aged and community care staff, looking at the issues of staff development, eLearning and eMentoring. I also worked as Lead Midwifery Educator in the Second Life Education New Zealand project, and spent a month working with the Charles Darwin University in Darwin to develop eLearning guidelines and template for the School of Business and MBA program.  In 2010 I consulted with Griffith University, Brisbane to design an eLearning package for student midwives. I worked with the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan to support midwifery currciulum development and moving to blended delivery and eLearning. Last year (2011) I developed an online "writing for publication" workshop for staff of Queensland Health which resulted in five articles submitted for publication.

Please feel free to check out my ePortfolio for more information about my work.
