Super 14 Rugby: Telecom Virtual Rugby

Image: www.karakarugby.co.nz/index.php?nid=Home&lid=1

Howrah! Its that time of year again - Super 14 Rugby! I am a great Highlanders fan and you'll see me shouting with the loudest at Carisbrook at home games.

But I am prepared for heart ache this year - the chances of the Highlanders even getting in the top 8 are probably as likely as me losing 3 stone in weight in the next week. Never mind, I am not a fair weather fan - I'll be there, win or lose!

The Telecom Virtual Rugby Competition starts again so if you want to see if you can beat me making predictions about the scores of the games, especially if you are fans of the Australian and South African teams, come and join me. You can find me as 'hototagogirl'.

Go the Highlanders!

unfortunately they donm't show the super 14 here, but we get to see a lot of the 6nations on german telly this year (due to the success of the rwc last year).
so my boring days sitting on the sofa and waiting for the baby to come are over. erm, at least the weekends are less boring... still waiting for an italian win, because i guess that would cause my waters to break ;-) (the 19:23 score against england was close, but not close enough)

Well, blow me down, the Highlanders beat The Blues in their pre-season warm up match - let's hope they're as good in their official matches.

Hello mammal, you sound like a girl after my own heart - a pregnant rugby fan! Being an England fan,I was glad that we squeaked a win past Italy but I am about as confident of England winning the 6 nations as I am about The Highlanders winning the Super 14. I just wish the teams I support would win for a change!!

i'd rather be out on the pitch with my team, but sitting at home watching 6nations is the next best thing at the moment ;-)
i hope for france to win this years 6nations, as the new coach has built an impressive team with outstanding players such as Fulgence Ouedraogo (i always have to look up his name in google) and Trinh-Duc, i really enjoy to watch them play, young guys who grew up with the "mouvement general", they look like they play for fun, not for money.

Hey, I'm a Kiwi and I'm also a Highlanders fan!!! I always support the Highlanders, even though there is a growing trend downsouth to ditch them and back the Crusaders. I actually think the Highlanders have a decent chance this year after losing most of their games by within 7 points. All they need is some sqaud continuity which this year they have. Also they have signed Fet'u Vainakolo again who was the leading try scorer last year!!!

This is me again and I was wondering where to find virtual super14???, all I can do is virtual npc. (I signed up today ,and followed the hyperlink and still got no super14.)

Well, lets hope you're right!!

I'm have just moved to Brisbane for 6 months so will be forced to go & watch Reds games. Sadly, the Highlanders are not coming to Brisbane so I wont get the opportunity to get my Highlanders gear out.

Virtual rugby hasn't started yet which is why you're still seeing the NPC stuff. They should be setting up any minute.

BTW, what do you think of Jimmy Cowan being captain?

Cheers for the tip, you'll find me as sal09 (I put in my mum's details so I could be eligible for the prizes.) I actually think Cowan will make an alright captain, he even said in hindsight his drink problem worked out well cos he is now much more mature - and sober. He was playing well last year, and I hope he can do the same this year and lead from the front.

Are you sure they do super14? It starts soon, and there is no sign of it.

I hope you're right about Cowan. I do worry about the message it sends to young men. I know we're all entitled to make mistakes, but I am wondering if the message is that it doesn;t matter what you're behaviour is, you'll still get rewarded if you're a rugby player?

As for virtual rugby, looks like they're email us when it gets going. Good luck.

Virtual Rugby is strating again, with sky sport as a partner, yet I can't log in!!! Then when I try to retieve my pass word, it says there's an error.

I'm really sorry, but I am afraid I can;t help. I have managed to get my account started & made my first set of picks. Have you tried getting in touch with 'help'?

Seems a few of my friends are having issues. The only way I've got in this year is to click "forgot my password" on the login screen, wait for the email to come back, click the link to reset my password, which lets me back in ... once!!!

I've tried "Help", which didn't, and even emailed the webmaster, who didn't reply. Great customer service guys ... I'm sure your advertisers would be delighted.
